Start construction NDSM

First-pile celebrations were held for the Smederij on the 9th of March 2010.

The Smederij, a former industrial forge located on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam-Noord, will be redeveloped in three phases. Construction has started on the adjoining sheds, which will house the headquarters of soft drinks company Red Bull. The completion of this phase is foreseen for 2011.

Additionally, one of the shed roofs will be elevated, creating a 30 metre high tower that will ensure the Smederij becomes a landmark for the entire area. The former forge itself will serve as the heart of the building, whilst retaining a large part of its former industrial feel.
